What is bulbus vestibuli?

Bulbus vestibuli is a small, elongated, and cylindrical region located at the entrance of the vagina, between the labia minora. It is also called the vaginal vestibule. The bulbus vestibuli is richly supplied with blood vessels and nerve endings, making it an important anatomical structure for female sexual response. It contains the opening of the urethra, the clitoris, and the vaginal opening. During sexual arousal, the bulbus vestibuli and the clitoris become engorged with blood, causing them to swell in size and become more sensitive to touch. The bulbus vestibuli is also important for maintaining the proper environment for sperm transport in the vagina.
